This test measures the amount of Lipoprotein (a), or Lp(a), in your blood. Lp(a) is a type of fat (lipid) in your blood that is similar to LDL, known as the "bad" cholesterol. High levels of Lp(a) may increase your risk of heart disease and stroke.
