    What is this test? 

    The NMR LipoProfile® Test uses nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR) spectroscopy to provide more accurate measurements of lipoproteins and cholesterol. These measurements can provide a clearer picture of cardiovascular risk factors and identify signs of cardiovascular disease.  

    Factors measured by the NMR LipoProfile® Test include: 

    • Historical reporting of LDL-P (Low-Density Lipoproteins particle number) and LDL-C (cholesterol levels). 
    • Insulin-resistance score, which can assess your risk for insulin resistance (a precursor to Diabetes). 
    • Lipoprotein particle number (LDL-P). This is the measurement of lipoprotein particles in the blood and can often provide a more accurate assessment of cardiovascular risk.  
    • Particle concentration and size (total HDL-P, small LDL-P, LDL size). 
    • Standard lipid panel that includes total cholesterol, calculated LDL cholesterol, HDL cholesterol, and triglycerides. 

    Who is this test for? 

    The NMR LipoProfile® Test is a useful tool in the diagnosis of cardiovascular disease for those with relevant symptoms, health markers that are known precursors to cardiovascular disease, and/or family history of cardiovascular disease. “Without graph” refers to how the results are presented in numerical value.
